These paper prefilters are most commonly used in canning units. They are designed for single use, however can be rinsed with hot water and reused a few times. Using prefilters will increase the amount of syrup filtered through the synthetic filter before it clogs with sediment. Some producers will layer multiple prefilters on top of the final filter, and remove them incrementally as filtering slows.

These prefilters measure 24" x 30", but can be easily cut to whatever size is needed.

A prefilter is not intended to filter syrup on its own.

Sold in packages of 12.
